WEFTEC 09 Recap

by Bob Murphy

The Water Environment Federation Technical Exhibition and Conference has just concluded and many are already looking towards next year’s conference.

Technical sessions focused on the issues of water shortage while exhibitors brought the best in energy savings and sustainable technologies.

Among the exhibitors Sherwin-Williams introduced Hi-Solids Polyurethane MR (mildew resistant), a two-component gloss and color retentive protective coating that is ideal for use on tanks and structures in high-visibility areas. “the product is of particular benefit in applications such as elevated water storage tanks where condensation on the underside is conducive to mildew growth” commented Brad Rosetto, VP Marketing, Sherwin-Williams Protective and Marine Coatings.

Also introduced at WEFTEC 09 was Sherwin-Williams Anti-Graffiti Clear Coat designed for new or previously coated concrete substrates. Anti-Graffiti Clear Coat has superior cleanability and weatherability properties and well as a low VOC.

Anti-Graffiti Clear Coat requires only a solvent wipe cleaning or uses a 3000-psi pressure washer to remove graffiti. By allowing unsightly graffiti to be easily removed, your facility can maintain it’s clean image. Even after cleaning the coating retains it’s anti-graffiti characteristics with no loss in performance or appearance.
